Casablanca, Hassan II Mosque

Completed in 1993 with contributions from the Moroccan people and the skill of 35,000 Moroccan craftsmen, the Hassan II Mosque is the second largest religious building in the world, after the mosque in Mecca. The complex covers 9 hectares (968,774 square feet), two-thirds of it built over the sea, and can accommodate 25,000 worshippers. It was definitely a spectacular mosque.
