Contrary to what people think...

This capture is for anybody who thinks living in the Gulf is only like living in a desert. We actually have rain, even in Saudi Arabia, which has been the case for the past week, as amazing as it seems in spring. This was the road between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It’s the busiest highway in the country, and the heavy rain made it all the more difficult.

Wow, that would be absolutely lethal! I think I experienced a light drizzle once or twice in two years in the Gulf. This pic warrants publication in a newspaper's 'odd spots' or novelty news column.

I imagine it may not rain all that much and those roads can be slippery from oil on them - as we were warned when we lived in California.

Ah yes, it can actually be quite stormy at times in the Gulf States, and that's not sand storms I mean :-) Always nice for a cool-down and settlement of the dust there though.
