Again the dragonfly

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

I obviously liked this dragonfly because I brought two cameras out to try to capture him! But she certainly didn’t seem in any hurry to go anywhere, regardless of how close I got. Thanks to Christine, I now know this dragonfly was "obelisking," a pose they assume when it's hot outside. It was definitely hot in my garden today.

Both great close-ups, Helen. I never knew "obelisk" was a verb. V

The best of the two. Maybe you captured the only dragonfly around there. I know there are some species adapted to the desert, but I guess their won't be many. Great pose called "obelisking" They do this to reduce the impact of the sun to their body.
