Palace on the hill

I’m not exactly sure what this hilltop complex is, but my feeling is that it’s some sort of modern-day royal palace. Every time we have gone past here there was heavy security at the massive gate, and today we were ordered off the road twice (once with our car and once on foot) because of a huge motorcade that was going to be passing by. It’s not the easiest place to get a picture of due to the distance, the sun and the security, but took my best shot (so to speak) with the 70-300mm lens.

You've captured it very well - that gate is impressive - I guess someone important is resident ! V

I see you used your big camera. Did you carry that with you when you were on foot, or was this a drive-by shooting, so to speak? Just curious about whether you feel more comfortable carrying around the big rather than the inconspicuous camera.

Fascinating! If not a royal palace, then I wonder what it might be. You got a great view of the place. V
