Actually, I’m almost finished with the camel gallery, but since Tim took two series of pictures of me and this new abaya, thought I may as well post it.

I have three new abayas that I just haven’t photographed yet, but I really love this one. I wanted another black one without sparkles (for grocery shopping and such), yet with some unusual decoration, and this one fit the bill. It’s somewhat heavy, with a very high neck, and is really for winter, which I’m discovering can be pretty cold here! It looks more elegant in person than it does in this picture (especially with my slippers and matching socks ;-)), with the diagonals of lace running down the back also. I have even learned a way to tie my headscarf so that it pretty much stays on my head, sort of Saudi style, but not quite as all-enveloping.
