Budapest's Famous Gellért Hotel and Baths

This famous hotel and bath complex was built between 1912-1918 in the Secessionist style on the site of a hot spring whose existence and healing waters were referred to as early as the 13th century. The Ottomans built baths here during their occupation of Hungary. The complex was destroyed in 1945 but was rebuilt and modernized after World War II. We toured the bath and spa complex on a special tour and got to go down into the depths under the hotel to see the workings of the baths. It was pretty impressive, but incredibly hot and humid.
