Daniel Roberts – Manchester – Attorney; Personal Attorney to Governor Page; Attorney for SEVERAL railroads in Vermont; Bank Commissioner, 1853 and 1854; Special agent, US Treasury Dept. 1865 and 1866; State's attorney for Chittenden, County, 1868 and 1869; Strongly anti-slavery, he was involved with creating the republican party and helped many fugitive slaves escape to Canada and freedom through the underground railroad.
