Anderson G. Dana MD LL. D was an extremely well known Physician from Brandon, VT. When he passed away in 1861, his obituary was carried in newspapers in New York, Boston, etc. He was a founding member of the Vermont Medical Society and served as it's president in 1843 and 1844. He preformed the first public dissection in Vermont in April 1814. He was a Vermont State Senator in 1840 and 1841. Dr. Dana suffered an infection of the heart in 1853 and was forced to retire from medical practice as well as all strenuous activity though during this period he did serve as President of the Rutland and Addison County Insurance Company. On 11 August 1816, Dr. Dana Married Miss Eliza A. Fuller, "A descendant of one of the Pilgrims from the Mayflower" and they had 7(?) children.
