Elkhorn Lake ~ December 10 [6]

Spicer, Minnesota

A trio of young ice skaters playing hockey and a temporary fish house on Elkhorn Lake. Most seasons this wouldn't be particularly early to be on the ice, but this season has been atypically warm. Today the high was 43F (6C); yesterday it was 55F (12.8C). This very morning two ATVs went through the ice on a lake near Nisswa, Minnesota. (About 120 miles north of here.)The tracks of an ATV are plainly visible on the ice in this photo...

A great scene, I hope the ice is safe too. We always have a few over eager kids go through the ice in Oakland county, around this time of the year.
