Lonesome Highway ~ November 12 [15]

Somewhere in Eastern South Dakota

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
~ Robert Frost (From the poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening")

I felt much like Robert Frost this evening, having finally found home some 500+ miles later...

...and be sure to always take your camera along with you! This is great, you have captured a universal feeling here. GMV

Hope you were able to stay awake. Looks like a long road ahead.
Love the poem.

Majesterial mood here. The gradations in tones created my the frame of the windshield, the anti-sun tint and the colour of the sky are an abstract in their own right, creating a sense of calm. This is countered by the vanishing point perspective with the rush of motion blur. One of the better photos on the popular galleries for a while. It reminds me of a still from the movie Paris Texas. Voted.

I've tried shooting something like this several times. I have so far failed to accomplish what you have done so well. Well done.

THis is really excellent Greg. Most of all I like the tones of sky and inclusion of the car elements.

Looks like you were driving into a storm. Pretty deserted area. Glad you made it home ok. I'd hate to break down out there in the middle of nowhere.
