Fall Wall 2 ~ October 8 [8]

New London, Minnesota

Along the side wall of the Heritage Falls Market in downtown New London.

I couldn't decide which composition I liked better; this one or one more in accordance with the rule of thirds:

I'm not sure which I like better. I like the abstract nature of the wall with it's converging lines and pattern. I also think it's a beautiful fall tree. The contrast between them is what makes each stand out. I like it in any event.

I lean toward this shot. It shows more of nature's beauty.
In contrast to the man-made wall it speaks volumes on what humans can acheive and what we can't.

Really interesting contrasts. Nice images. Just like there is no crying in Baseball, there are no rules in photography. At least none that shouldn't be broken once in a while :)

half and half partition works well for bringing out the difference between these two sides. If you want to emphasze on the autumnal side (or the wall), as suggested by Gray, the golden 1/3 rule should prevail. Just my view as a novice.
