Late Season Ice Fishing ~ March 18 [6]

I'm more amazed that they choose to sit on a block of ice with a cold beer!!! Lovely colours, the warmth of the sky against an otherwise frigid scene.

Amazing sky and scene. They must be nuts.
Fred Wilkinson21-Mar-2006 18:49
Excellent shot in every respect, with a strong narrative. It's hard to believe that this is a voluntary activity :)

Vote - the colors, sharpness, and leading lines - make this excellent shot!

Terrific sharpness, contrast and colors ...... Great silver effect of the snow.
Also, they look like woody wagons there but not, I see reflections! Excellent capture. Voting.

Many years ago, a flow off of Toledo broke away with 125 cars and trucks. Four hours later, a smaller flow broke off. Fully a dozen of the second group of rescuees had been on the first ice flow. Ice fishing???????

Fantastic shot. Voted.
I'd like to be the diver to salvage all the stuff from the bottom :)

Beautiful shot and some rather dumb people.
Last week was the last anyone allowed ice fishing shed, ect on the ice. Now if caught it ticket time.

Never mind their lack of brains. It's a beautiful shot. Cool blue evening shadows contrasting with that gorgeous sunset. Magnificent.

very nice!!
This reminds me of White Bear lake in St. Paul Mn.

Excellent composition Greg and the sky is gorgeous.

I don't understand why they would take a chance of losing
their vehicles to the lake just for the thrill of fishing!

That great sky really sets this picture off.

Beyond my comprehension...and is that a tent on the left?? The sky is beautiful. Great find, Greg.

Gorgeous shot! Love the sunset and the snow and the tracks on it. These people are crazy though. That's got to be cold! :)
Guest 19-Mar-2006 10:21
Our ice didn't even get thick enough to ice skate this winter. So disappointing. Great shot, Greg.
Jim Ross19-Mar-2006 08:38

Coleen Perilloux Landry19-Mar-2006 07:23
Look at that gorgeous sky and light in this photo! Those cuckoos might not live to eat the fish they caught.

looks like home....when I was a kid my dad had a great ice fishing shack that he hauled out on the ice every winter and we'd spend the whole night out there watching tip-ups and playing monopoly...great sky in this photo.
Steven Jusczyk19-Mar-2006 07:05
It will be their best memory in the heat of summer. Nice pastel sky.
