Forgotten Past

view map

A strange scene for most parts of the world, but a normal one for Sudan.
A pyramid, probably a few thousand years old, just sitting in the landscape
like it's a natural thing. Just a pyramid. Scenes like this is what makes
Sudan so special. At any corner you can come upon a scene like this, a
pyramid, uncovered by the wind, a snaking sand dune using the pyramid for
cover and leading into the Sahara, a man, covered in white, strolling by.

Taken in Meroe, Sudan.

Sublime scenery. I love the desert.
