My wife called out to me " There's a large Pileated W.P. on your suet feeder. Quick, get your camera." I ran downstairs, grabbed my camera with whatever lens was on it and ran upstairs to our bedroom window. Surprise, Woody was still there, hanging on for dear life and pecking away at the small 5" x 5" feeder.
This is a full-frame shot as Woody was only some 15 feet from me and the camera had my 300mm f4 lens and 1.7 T.C. on it. All I could get was its head just as it peeked over the top at me. Then it flew away. I managed to get just two shots. This one turned out quite well considering it was taken through a closed window.
