Four consecutive images:
I was most fortunate to get these shots. A few of us had been shooting Warblers for most of the morning. At 11:00 AM, I decided it was time to go home. I shut of my camera (a big mistake) and started towards my car which was parked beside the road some 150 meters (500 feet) away. I had only gone about 30 meters from were we had been shooting and there was this little fella sitting on its haunches right beside the path, about two meters from me and just looking up at me.
At first I thought it was a red squirrel, but then I realised that it was a weasel. I quickly turned on my camera, but of course, too late. The weasel had dissapeared under a rock. But, wait, it left behind its dinner, a mole. I positioned myself for a shot hoping the weasel would return for its catch. Sure enough, after only a few minutes it got out of its hole, quickly grabed the mole and took off. Now, I hadn't seen a weasel since living on a farm some 45 years ago, so I was glad to be able to get these four shots.
