Two images of a Parasitic Jaeger in a "DOG-fight" with a Ring-billed Gull above The Ottawa River. It appeared that the Jaeger would spot its intended victim from a long distance away whilst floating on the water. It would then suddenly take-off, fly fast and low above the water and engage the intended Gull in aerial combat in order to make the Gull drop its catch and/or even to make it regurgitate its food which the Jaeger would then consume.
Top image: The Jaeger is approaching close from below and behind the Gull. The Gull has either just jettisoned some ballast from the rear or it has emptied its stomach. I suspect the first as the Jaeger did not stop the pursuit to eat the ejected stream of material that can be seen behind the Gull.
The Gull is screaming whilst the Jaeger approaches it from above.
