Three images of one of three Ruffed Grouse encountered during our last trip to Algonquin. We initially saw a pair foraging on the roadway to the Visitor's Centre when we drove in. I only managed a couple of distant shots of the female at that time as they immediately took off. We later encountered them again just off the road. This time the female again took off in flight; however, the male just proudly sauntered off into the woods allowing us to take some shots of it in full display. These are my first ever shots of a Ruffed Grouse doing its courting display of feathers.
