Four images of the wounded 10 point buck. About a week ago, I posted images of the buck and its wounds. At that time, the wounds were still bleeding and the buck was constantly licking them. Thank you all for your comments re: the likely cause of the injury, be it due to a fight with an other buck or due to a bullet or arrow. Presently, I am still not sure as to the cause. After viewing these images, please feel free to provide additional comments or opinions as to the nature of the wounds.
The wounded buck can now generally be found with the does and fawns and although it is a bit skittish, it comes quite close when people bring treats for the deer. All of the other bucks, including THE BOSS, are no where to be found now. The rut seems to be over and they have likely retreated into the woods. The wounded buck seems to be taking on his Winter coat and some hair now covers the wounds. At first glance he appears quite healthy and the wounds don't seem to bother him too much.
Top Image: A good, very attentive-looking buck; however, in this image, his right-side wound is obscured by the spruce tree.

A shot from the rear taken as I followed the buck who kept about 10-20 meters ahead of me. He would stop to look back every time I stopped following. Note the right-side wound is not visible in this pose. (See http://www.pbase.com/hankvv/image/130632082 for a close-up of this wound taken a week earlier.)

Left wound near the shoulder.

Close-up of the left shoulder wound. As you can see, it is quite ugly. Previously, I didn't have a close-up of this wound as it was then blood-stained and covered by hair due to constantly being licked.
As I noted, other than the visible evidence of the wounds, the buck seems quite healthy and quite mobile. I am concerned; however, for infections, especially if there are embedded objects.
