Portraits of three Bucks, all taken in the same area of a local forest/park.There are many does and fawns in the forest as well and the bucks are starting their rut.
Yesterday I posted images of an 11 pointer.
This morning we first encountered an eight pointer. It tried to corner a doe, but no cigar. Then we saw a 10 pointer in hot pursuit of one of the does. He chased and chased it around for what seemed like several hours. At one point he seemed to have succeeded in his quest, but shortly thereafter the chase resumed. We were hard pressed to not get in between it and his prize. At one point I found myself in that position when all of a sudden the doe showed up right behind me with the buck only some 20 meters on the opposite side. I quickly looked for a large tree to hide behind, but luckily, the doe moved on and the chase resumed.
Yesterday someone reported seeing two of the bucks engaged in battle.
Top image: Big Daddy, the 10 pointer. It was he that was chasing the doe. He seemed exhausted by this time and was huffing and puffing.

The 11 pointer I saw yesterday. He was no where in sight today. Perhaps he lost the fight.

The eight pointer and smallest of the bucks. It got out of the way when Big Daddy arrived.
