We had a sloped area of grass toward the back of the yard where the grass doesn't do well, and it gets more sun that some other parts of the yard. I sheet mulched the area (covered with a couple layers of builder's paper) which should smother the grass. The paper will decompose and we have a 50/50 mix of soil and compost on top. I used a low growing wildflower seed mix and also added some common milkweed seeds I collected in the wild.
