About seven or eight feet for most of these shots. The bird approached me to feed in small plants on the ground. Several shots were out of focus because it was too close - inside the minimum focusing distance of the lens (about 6 feet). I think this bird has become habituated to people after spending a couple of months in a small park with a lot of people passing through.
