So I had some extra time to kill this evening. I'd planned on sneaking out at 6pm and going towards the coast for a bit but my wife called to let me know I had to pick up our girls from softball practice. Not a problem, I decide to take a bit longer way home, up in the hills a bit with lots of farm houses. The road I planned on taking runs parallel to my normal commuting route for most of the trip, intersecting with the main thoroughfare a few miles from my house. So I head to this road (known locally as Rte 101) only to find that they are working on a stretch of the road near the beginning (southeast end) and they have us detoured back west onto my normal commute route. These are interesting tidbits of information that would have been nice to know before I went out of my way to come back to my normal route.
I did make it back to 101 and found this old house with plenty of room to park for photos. The sun was hitting it just right.
