I had the same kind of thing happen in Warrington town center, but I found out that all you need to do is ask permission, and as long as you agree that it is only for personal use, they're fine with it.

Great shot! I had the same experience at Powell's Bookstore in Portland. I snapped a series of shots from the same location and watched in my frame as this person kept getting closer. Turned out she was Security! Too bad we can't just take interesting photos these days.
Like the motion effect here Graham, nice shot. Seasons Greetings Cheers Dougie.

Strikes fear into the heart of a confirmed non shopper like me. I've had a couple of surprizes recently when taking pictures in innocuous places and been told to stop, also. Nice shot.
Wonderful motion blur; and I feel sad for the people who have nothing better to do at this time of year than to stop you taking great shots like this one....

*LOL*........Oh Graham i couldn't stop laughing when i read your comment. That has happend to me when photographing an Arena in Miami. They told me that it was for security reasons due to terrorism! Maybe GOD can give you permission next time?
LOL... you don't have the liberty to photograph Liberty Mall.
I guess it is a different kind of freedom that your soldiers and ours are fighting for.
Very nice picture, BTW. It shows the hustle and bustle of the season.
