Honu Closeup: Wake up call

At a local secluded beach, the Honu, or Green Sea Turtle often sleep on the sand during the low tide and afternoon sunshine hours.
As the tide rises, they awaken and lumber into the water, where they become graceful again, swimming in their element...

This creature is just waking up, and as the species is an endangered one, it is also a wake up call for human beings
to enjoy and protect and nurture these wonderful creatures, lest they vanish completely from the earth...

A truly stunning image. WOW! What a privilege to see this beautiful creature. And thank you so much for highlighting their very vulnerable status. It is up to we humans to protect them. VVV

He looks as if he needs his morning shot of caffeine...I can imagine those lids lifting oh, so slowly and creakily....

not likely the human race will wake up soon, enough, I am afraid...
