Prothonotary Warbler

Grand Isle, Louisiana

I follow a weather/radar report that predicts times that large numbers of migrating birds can be found on the Louisiana coast. It paid off yesterday morning. When I arrived on the boardwalk there were dozens of prothonotary warblers in the trees, followed by waves of northern parulas. I was able to photography four prothonotaries on a single large branch. That photo, one of the first of the morning, was sadly underexposed. I will try to rescue it.
The watermark should say 2010. I will have to repost later!
