A birder had this to say about the three Snowy Owls she observed in the morning, "Each was sitting on his own pile of snow, the last remaining piles in the field. We allowed ourselves to walk in across the field but only to the tree line, in order to really check that we weren't seeing plastic bags. What a sight! I'll never forget it!".

I find it both funny and cute that the owls are seeking out remaining patches of snow to perch on. The above image is almost full-frame.
