This image is kind of symbolic of the viewpoint between some birders and bird photographers. We all have the same interest, birds but different goals. I'm sure there are some photographers who are more interested in getting the photo than they are in the bird. You'll have those in every bunch. But for the most part, I think people who photograph birds are really interested in the birds themselves. Birders can stay further away because they have the reach with the powerful scope. Nature photographers need to get a little bit closer because they don't have the reach. This has sometimes led to disagreement and ill feeling. Personally, I think we can all get along.
