Red-necked Phalarope (Juvenile)

A rather tame bird feeding all day at the same spot, likley fattening up for another leg of its long journey southward from the artic breeding grounds. It has been here at least since last Thursday when I first saw it for a couple of hours.

Thanks Brenda. Sounds like you had a great morning. Wish I had been there.

Gorgeous shot, Wilson. I see you figured out that it is a juvenile. I saw it again on Saturday and this morning along with a Black-bellied Plover and the Intermediate Juvenile Parasitic Jaeger. What a great morning.
