It's been a couple of months since I last visited my friend the Screech Owl. The little guy is scruffy looking. Not sure if it is in the process of molting or is a juvenile bird. Cute nevertheless

I understand the molt occurs in July and August. It starts on the back feathers followed by the rest of the body with the head during the last stage. While there I heard another Screech Owl call twice and every time it got this owl's attention.
