paper birch

finally caught a few autumn colours, but leaves are already dropping...barely discernible on the trunk is a small red sign, and an odd one it is too...it gives the tree a number, and refers one to a website...there you can search for the number, and then the species is identified...it might have been easier just to put a full name tag on the tree

Tree tagging may also be used to identify trees to be cut down or to protect...lovely to see the wonderful autumn colors in this superb image...V
