progress

visited an old pal a few days ago, and here next door is where I lived for 19 years until May 2016...that house has been torn down, but so far progress on a new building does not impress

this is indicative of a trend in local residential neighbourhoods, with older houses bought and then destroyed, and newer, much larger dwellings replacing them

Same thing is happening where I live. Nothing can replace the charm of old architecture. V

Sad to see the old houses disappearing. One day these new ones will be gone too.

No old neighborhood to revisit either.

Accommodation looks a bit basic!

Interesting documentary shot. This is happening in some neighborhoods here as well, especially the older beach communities. I am rarely impressed by the structures that replace the old ones.

Sad to see old neighborhoods changing. At least this doesn't look like it will be a skyscraper!

So sad to see, with you having spent so much time here. The same kind of thing is happening on Capitol Hill, which IMO is destroying the character of the once-charming neighborhood.

What a pity.. I think many older homes have a certain charm..
