it seems the local population of Glaucous-winged Gulls is slowly vanishing..over the last three decades on the west coast numbers of breeding pairs are down by over 50%, due to a decline in some of the fish, such as herring and oolichan, which were once important foods for them...now they have adapted to human foods (see previous image), so with the resultant loss of fish protein in their diets, produce fewer and smaller eggs
