DSC_0002..first test

after some research that included keeping a close eye on the images of pbase friends like Mairead, I decided to pick up the D7000...one quick shot at home confirmed it was charged up and ready to use, so took advantage of a sunny day to test it out at Kits Beach...with the 16.2 megapixel sensor the files are huge, this first image at the seaside came in at 9Mb, and that is still only Jpeg fine, so RAW files must be enormous...this photo, metered for the sky, is straight out of the camera with no processing

Nikon D7000
Nikkor 18-200mm - 1/400s f/8.0 at 18.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Ah we were all holding our breath to see what your new camera is.
It looks like a great choice...you must take advantage of these large files
and do up some big prints...a waste just to see it on the monitor. V

Nice to see your test shot come out so well.
My Pentax k5 has 16m pixels and the RAW can be from 16m to 24m, be interesting to compare with yours

Congratulations on your new camera David. The first shot looks great. I agree with Boris, the senor is better than the D90. "V"
