taken 12 minutes after the previous image...the sky had exploded in a ferocious electrical storm...thunder crashed and lightning bolts raked across the sky...by closing down the aperture to get longer exposures it was possible to capture the lightning...widening the view also increased the chances of catching the quick, unpredictable flashes...3 frames did the job, of which this is the strongest shot
