Papanui Inlet

Otago Peninsula, South Island

as in any coastal area the sun can disappear very quickly behind a bank of clouds...yet a grey sky seemed to enrich the ambience around these boathouses at Papanui Inlet..the pointed peak is named Harbour Cone...a reminder of the areas volcanic past

many thanks to Micky for taking me to this place, definitely off the beaten track..

The soft, diffuse light adds character to this inlet in paradise, bringing to life how one might image such a place to look - the gentle curve of the water leading to the mountains just beyond ; the simple, rustic boathouses, and an old boat anchored in the channel.. A fine image! BV
