BC Burns.jpg

Fort Fraser, BC

Caught this on my way home from Prince George
yesterday. I have several friends who live
near here who are on Evacuation Alert. So
hard to see so many people who have been evacuated
and don't know what they'll be going home to :(

Sounds like you're having (had?) a tough summer.

the earth is burning up. It only matters if the filthy rich are nearby. V

Strong documentary image. The fire season is starting here too. A 400 acre fire was a few miles from us yesterday. "V"

Well caught, but very sad and scary for those in the path of fire.

Very sad to see this. Such a pretty area and didn't they have terrible fires last year? Stay safe Gill.

That doesn't look or sound good. Hope you and your friends stay safe!

A potential for disaster. Are you in any danger from this fire?
Yvonne12-Jul-2017 10:53
Oh dear, that does not look good Gill - stay safe!!!

I echo David. Heavy smoke here and smoky throughout the Okanagan. No change in the weather is expected, hot, dry and windy. It is a dreadful situation for so many. I too hope you remain safe, Gill.

tragedy can still be photogenic

potent and timely image...this is not too far from where you live either...crazy number of wildfires this summer...already 14,000 people forced out of their homes, some of which have been burnt...the townspeople of Williams Lake, all 10,000 of them, may have to evacuate tomorrow too...hope you are safe Gill, and not suffering too badly from the smoky air..
