We stopped over in Clinton and as the sun set
I took a walk up on the hillside above the hotel
and came across what I think is a First Nations graveyard.
This was written on the fence:
"As the wind blows gently over the land,
We know you are watching over us
And all that surrounds,
We give 'thanks' for all that you have created
And 'thanks' for giving us the strength and wisdom
To be caretakers of this great land.

As the 'Four Directions' gives us the circle of life,
Our forefathers have taught us to
Respect all life, and may be never forget
Who we are, Where we come from
And what we stand for."
