This unusual-looking frog was found at night on the banks of a temporary stream through a rocky outcrop in the Kimberley
savanna. Like most of Australia's tropical burrowing frogs they are seasonally active, breeding in the monsoonal summer.
During the cooler and dryer months these frogs remain buried deep beneath the sand.
