Long-jawed spiders, Tetragnathidae

Gungarre, Kakadu

It is rare to see spiders mating, but obviously they must do it a lot, as there are a lot of them. I was fortunate enought to get
this photo showing the nuts and bolts of the process- the male (on the right) is putting his sperm-laden palp into her gynecium.
This almost qualifies as a Queensland Beer rated picture.
