Lucasium steindachneri

South of Miles, Qld

I have always been a bit concerned about the impact of blasting small nocturnal animals with flash would have on their night
vision. My fears were allayed somewhat when halfway through a photographic session with this little lizard my torchlight
attracted a cricket which landed about 5 cm in front of the gecko. Without concern or hesitation the gecko stalked and pounced
on the hapless insect, allowing me to get a series of images.
