This is how NOT to walk the overland track. I was so astonished that this guy was going to head off with ridiculously inadequate
equipment (in spite of my warnings as a ranger) that I finally asked if I could take his picture as a warning to others, to which he
happily agreed. No sleeping mat, very little food, sleeping bag outside his pack exposed to weather (and no plastic bag to protect
it), no thermal underwear, jeans (which get very cold once they are wet).. This guy was adamant that he would do the walk in five
days, with heavy frosts expected.. I assume he changed his mind, his motorbike wasn't in the car park for long.
