A collection of pebbles
gathered together in a crowd
shaped by time
and waves
and salt
and circumstance.
Incredibly diverse histories
whispered in hissing rattles
as a wave reminds them of whence they came
and each inanimate pebble cries to the animate
to be recognised, touched, cherished and loved
enriching both.
