While butterflies are often pretty, and emerge during the day, most moths are only active at night. This is NOT because they are
uglier than butterflies, but because they are tastier. Although I declined to sample this species, there is a very famous moth in
Australia called the Bogong which was avidly eaten by Aboriginal people living in the high country. Nowadays, the bright lights of
Canberra lure many Bogong moths to their deaths..
