Uperoleia lithomoda

Katherine area, NT, Australia

Frogs of the genus Uperoleia are generally small, secretive and very successful ventriloquists. For herpetologists like me they are
a difficult group to work with as they are rather similar and can often only be reliably identified by their call, which isn't a lot of
help when you catch one that isn't calling. Identifying one species from another is challenging enough, and there have been few,
if any detailed studies on the life histories of these small, but often very habitat specific frogs.
