This beautiful rainforest inhabitant occurs amongst remnant rainforest in far northeast NSW and southeast Qld, where it breeds in
unpolluted streams. The males say "op..op..op..op.." in the hope of attracting females, which might help to explain their rarity.
This species grows to about 80mm in length.
