Carlia pectoralis?

Coolatai, NSW

There are still many discoveries to be made amongst the wildlife of Australia. Having been involved in fauna surveys for many years,
I know how difficult it is to undertake a "comprehensive" survey. This little lizard is a case in point. I have lived on my little 1 acre
block for over twelve years, and it still turns up surprises. This small skink is most similar to a species not recorded in NSW, the
Open-litter Rainbow Skink Carlia pectoralis. Presently, this species is unknown from the state of NSW. It is likely to be more common
here than first thought, as they are a shy, fast moving and cryptic species.
