Tasmanian Slender Blue-tongue, Cyclodomorphus casuarinae

Cradle Valley, Tasmania, Australia

Although very rarely seen, this shy species is not uncommon, and is found in a variety of habitats in Tasmania. The colouration
is extremely variable, with a background colour from black, olive green, to fawn, and the species may possess strong patterns of
transverse markings. Juveniles may be strongly banded, and both juveniles and adults may mimic snakes if threatened.
These live-bearing lizards are long-lived and may occupy a small area for many years.
