Flat-headed Waterholding frog, Neophractops platycephala

Nocoleche Nature Reserve NSW

These flat-headed frogs are basically reproducing eating machines (although isn't nearly every animal, at the end of the day?).
Flat-headed Burrowing frogs can reach incredible densities under the right conditions and once they have passed through
metamorphosis they set about eating everything in sight- in fact in some areas I passed through on the fauna survey on which
I photographed this individual there was the constant awful screaming sound of frogs under stress- upon investigation the calls
came from frogs being eaten by frogs of the same size and species..
