Red-naped snake, Furina diadema

Kwiambal National Park NSW

This small nocturnal species is common on the Northern Tablelands of NSW where it shelters under rocks during the day
and emerges at night to feed on.... possibly sleeping lizards..

I confess I have no idea what they feed on in the wild.

Beautiful color and detail. This is a very robust specimen. It reminds me of our ring- necked snake. Voted.
