NGC 6744 in Pavo

NGC 6744 is a spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away. With its elongated core and spiral arms its appearance is considered to be close to that of our home galaxy. NGC6744 has a companion dwarf galaxy (NGC 6744A), visible in its upper right part.
